Enabling address verification and the ability to obtain geographic (x - longitude and y - latitude) coordinates for an address, making it possible to display its location on a map and search for places in the surrounding area. This function is able to recognise and verify addresses across several countries by adapting to the addressing rules particular to specific regions.

Groups together all of the functionalities enabling the display and dynamic interaction with fixed or moving objects on a map. Map Management comprises 4 services:

 GetBestMapDefinition
Making it possible to achieve the best map definition for the specified display size, scale and movement margin (zoom levels, etc).

GenerateMap
Complementing the GetBestMapDefinition option, this service generates GIF format ViaMichelin maps featuring a wealth of additional information (e.g. tourist sights, airports, railway stations, car parks, etc) across a range of digital platforms (PCs, mobile handsets, etc). Any featured reference point(s) on a map can be signified with a personalised logo.

XYtoPixels
Enabling, with no prior geo-coding, the real-time map position of fixed or moving objects with known geographic coordinates. The map generation function can be combined with the real-time logo display to represent the objects on the map.

Enabling the search and display on a map of a defined number of fixed or moving objects based on the user's preferred criteria option (businesses, geographic, etc). This service also enables the accurate display of each Point Of Interest hosted on the ViaMichelin database servers.

Provides our users with a dedicated FTP or FTPs sites enabling updated data to be put on line regularly and automatically. TXT address files can be imported into ON-LINE MANAGER from an in-house application for complete or partial replacement of the address database. |
